Taboo resin finished/painted by DeeAnn Kjelshus into a stunning Dapple Grey Appaloosa Stallion. I found a reference photo very similar to this color and I just couldn't resist trying to recreate the color.
I entered this guy in the RESS Challenge at Meows to Minis live show last weekend where he won the coveted PEOPLES CHOICE award "by a landslide" !
This guy sports all those details including (but not limited too):
- Tons of realistic dappling
- Realistic mapping around his white markings
detailed hooves, roaning in appropriate areas etc
- Ultra Realistic Eyes
- Eyelashes
- Tons of realistic appy characteristics
- I had a hard time capturing his color in the photos. He has lots of rust coloring going on in his muzzle, hindquarters, flanks, and other areas of his body. Pencils, Pastels, Acrylics. Completed August 2007.
I have the reference photos I used for this guy so if you are the winning bidder and would like copies to show that dapple grey appaloosas do exist just let me know. :)
